hmmm. yes. I agree that porn has existed forever and there's nothing inherently wrong with it. But the porn we have now, which grows more and more extreme, blatantly misogynistic, and all pervasive, is relatively new, since the 1950's. Women who go along with it usually do so because they have internalized these damaging roles, and often fall into the sex industry due to addiction, poverty, previous abuse, etc. Both men and women are damaged by these roles, and I think the only thing to do is challenge it whenever the chance comes up.

You could say that porn has existed forever and will continue to do so, so why bother?
Or, you could say that women themselves are more than willing to objectify themselves, so why bother?
